UPEO SAFARIS · KENYA & BEYOND

Private safaris,
personally planned.

Extraordinary wildlife. Room to explore. A journey through East Africa shaped around your interests, your people, and your pace.

PLAN YOUR SAFARI
KENYA · SERENGETI · ZANZIBAR
YOUR JOURNEY WITH UPEO

A safari that feels
like it was made for you.

Because it is. Perhaps you’ve imagined elephants moving beneath a mountain, a lion resting in the golden grass, or your first sunrise over the Maasai Mara. Perhaps you simply know that Africa is calling.

Upeo Safaris brings those ideas into focus. We plan private, custom journeys with Kenya at their heart, with opportunities to continue into the Serengeti, unwind in Zanzibar, or explore a gorilla trekking extension.

YOUR PEOPLE

A private journey.

Travel with your partner, family, or friends. Begin with the people you’re bringing and the experience you want to share.

YOUR INTERESTS

More of what you love.

Wildlife, photography, time in nature, or a safari followed by the sea. Your priorities help shape the route.

YOUR PACE

Space to enjoy it.

Discuss longer stays, fewer moves, and time to settle in. A thoughtful itinerary makes room for the journey itself.

BEYOND THE ITINERARY

The Upeo Experience.

The best safari memories are often the moments between the landmarks: a quiet morning, an unexpected sighting, a conversation that changes how you see a place.

Elephants beneath a mountain rising above the clouds
WILDLIFE & WONDER

Be there for
the little moments.

Watch an elephant herd cross the landscape. Notice the birds beside the track. Take your time with a photograph rather than rushing toward the next stop.

Tell us what draws you to safari, and we’ll use that to guide the conversation about destinations, time in each place, and the rhythm of your days.

Wildlife is wonderfully unpredictable. Every drive is different, and the pleasure is as much in the discovery as the destination.

PERSONAL PLANNING

A conversation
before an itinerary.

You don’t need to arrive with a finished plan. Tell Ron and Faith what you’re curious about, who’s coming, and how you like to travel.

Early starts or a gentler pace? A first safari or a return to Africa? A special anniversary, a family adventure, or a long-awaited trip with friends? Those details matter.

THE RHYTHM OF THE BUSH

A day on safari.

Days unfold around your location, the conditions, and the activities in your itinerary. Here’s a glimpse of what a classic safari day might feel like.

EARLY LIGHT

The day awakens.

A warm layer, a cup of coffee, and the anticipation of heading into the landscape as the light begins to change.

OUT EXPLORING

Follow your curiosity.

Look for wildlife, pause for photographs, and learn to notice the tracks, sounds, and small details around you.

TIME TO PAUSE

Let the day breathe.

Depending on the plan, return to camp for lunch and a rest, or spend more time exploring with a picnic along the way.

GOLDEN HOUR

One more discovery.

Afternoon light brings a different mood. Later, settle into the evening and trade stories about the moments that stayed with you.

An illustrative day, rather than a fixed schedule. Activities and meals depend on your confirmed itinerary and accommodation.

CHOOSE YOUR NEXT CHAPTER

Our Destinations.

Start with Kenya’s wildlife and landscapes. Then decide whether your journey calls for more time in the bush, a different wildlife encounter, or a slower finish by the ocean.

THE HEART OF YOUR SAFARI

Kenya

Wide-open landscapes. Remarkable wildlife. So many ways to make it your own.

Kenya is the starting point for Upeo’s private safaris. Explore the possibilities of the Maasai Mara’s open plains, Amboseli’s elephant country, or a journey that brings contrasting landscapes together.

A first safari might focus on a few carefully chosen places. A returning traveler may want longer stays and more time to follow a particular interest.

Build your journey around

  • Wildlife viewing in the Maasai Mara
  • Elephants and scenery in Amboseli
  • Photography and time to observe
  • A balance of exploration and rest

Planning focus: choose the right combination of places and allow enough time to enjoy each one, rather than trying to see everything.

EXTEND YOUR TIME IN THE WILD

Serengeti

Let the horizon stretch a little further.

Continue into Tanzania for the Serengeti’s expansive plains and another chapter of wildlife discovery. This is an extension to consider when time in the bush is the heart of your trip.

If the Great Migration is on your wish list, make it part of the first planning conversation. The herds move, and where you stay matters as much as when you travel.

Build your journey around

  • A Kenya and Tanzania combination
  • More time for wildlife and photography
  • Seasonal interests that shape your route
  • A longer safari with fewer rushed moves

Planning focus: allow for travel between countries. Migration movements and river crossings follow natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

THE COASTAL CHAPTER

Zanzibar

Trade the safari tracks for time beside the sea.

After early starts and wildlife-filled days, Zanzibar offers a different rhythm: beach time, Indian Ocean views, and the historic streets of Stone Town.

Choose a quiet coastal finish or leave room to explore. The right stay depends on whether you picture long beach days, time in town, or a balance of both.

Build your journey around

  • A relaxed finish after your safari
  • Beach days and ocean views
  • Time to explore Stone Town
  • A honeymoon or special celebration

Planning focus: beach location, tides, transfer times, and your preferred hotel atmosphere all help shape the right coastal stay.

ADD TIME IN ZANZIBAR

A DIFFERENT KIND OF ENCOUNTER

Gorilla trekking

From open plains to a forest adventure.

If seeing gorillas is part of your dream, raise it early. A trekking extension needs its own time and planning, rather than being squeezed into a spare day.

Talk with Ron and Faith about how the destination, travel connections, permit availability, and walking conditions could fit your wider journey.

Important planning details

  • Time available beyond your Kenya safari
  • The physical demands of forest trekking
  • Permit arrangements and applicable age rules
  • Accommodation and transfer logistics

A LITTLE INSPIRATION

Imagine your journey.

These starting points show different ways a trip could take shape. Ron and Faith will adapt the route, duration, and details around you.

IDEA · ABOUT 7–9 DAYS

Your first Kenya safari.

Nairobi · Amboseli · Maasai Mara

Begin with time to arrive and settle in, then explore two contrasting safari areas. Think elephant country, open plains, and enough time in each place to get beyond a single game drive.

Discuss: arrival timing, road versus air transfers, the balance between destinations, and whether fewer stops would suit your pace.

MAKE THIS YOUR OWN
IDEA · ABOUT 10–14 DAYS

Safari, then the sea.

Kenya wildlife areas · Zanzibar

Make wildlife the first chapter, then change the pace with time on the coast. This combination leaves room for adventure and a few days when there is very little on the agenda.

Discuss: how to divide your nights, the beach atmosphere you prefer, and whether to include time in Stone Town.

PLAN A SAFARI & BEACH JOURNEY
IDEA · ABOUT 12–16 DAYS

More time in the wild.

Kenya · Tanzania’s Serengeti

For travelers who want wildlife to remain the focus, explore a journey across Kenya and Tanzania. Longer stays can give you time to appreciate each landscape rather than constantly repacking.

Discuss: seasonal priorities, travel connections, your preferred number of camps, and the time needed between countries.

DISCUSS A LONGER SAFARI

Illustrative itinerary ideas, not fixed packages. Durations are suggestions; routes, accommodation, activities, availability, and pricing are confirmed in your individual proposal.

PART OF THE EXPERIENCE

Find your kind
of somewhere.

Where you stay shapes the feeling of a safari. Tell us what comfort means to you, and what makes a place memorable.

CLOSE TO NATURE

Tented camps.

For travelers drawn to the atmosphere of the bush, discuss a tented stay. “Tented” can describe very different levels of comfort, so room facilities and the camp setting deserve a closer look.

ROOM TO UNWIND

Safari lodges.

If a permanent room, shared spaces, or particular amenities matter to you, make them part of the brief. Location and access to your planned activities matter alongside the room itself.

A COASTAL FINISH

Beach stays.

Quiet and intimate, lively and social, or somewhere suited to a family? Your ideal Zanzibar stay starts with how you want to spend your days and the atmosphere you enjoy.

The details that help us choose

Tell us about room arrangements, children’s ages, dietary needs, mobility considerations, and any essential amenities. Your proposal should identify the actual properties and room types, along with their confirmed facilities and meal arrangements.

HOW DO YOU LIKE TO TRAVEL?

Your people.
Your kind of adventure.

A great itinerary starts with understanding who you are traveling with and what you want to share.

Couples & celebrations.

A honeymoon, an anniversary, or simply time together. Discuss a balance of wildlife, privacy, relaxed evenings, and a coastal finish if that’s your idea of a perfect trip.

Families across generations.

Share ages, interests, and energy levels from the start. Room layouts, travel days, downtime, and activity requirements can make a big difference to everyone’s experience.

Friends with a shared dream.

Bring your group’s wish list together. We’ll discuss the priorities you share, the pace that works for everyone, and how to balance exploration with time to relax.

Travelers who love a photograph.

If photography is central to your trip, tell us about your interests and equipment. Time in each location, light, vehicle arrangements, and patience all belong in the planning conversation.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND UPEO

Our Story.

A brother and sister.
Two places to call home.
One shared vision.

For Ron and Faith, Upeo Safaris begins with family: a brother and sister connected by a love of Kenya and the belief that the most meaningful journeys are personal.

Ron lives in the United States. Faith lives in Kenya. Together, they bring two perspectives to the same conversation: the anticipation of planning a journey from far away, and a connection to the place you’re coming to experience.

With a combined 20 years of tour experience, they decided to bring their knowledge together and create something of their own. Their vision for Upeo is to help travelers turn a long-held safari dream into a thoughtfully planned, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Their partnership carries the familiarity of a lifelong relationship. They know how to listen to one another, share ideas, and work through the details. That same personal attention is what they want travelers to feel from the first conversation.

Perhaps this will be your first visit to Africa. Perhaps you are returning with your children, celebrating a milestone, or finally taking the trip you’ve talked about for years. Ron and Faith want to understand what makes this journey important to you.

Upeo Safaris is their invitation to discover Kenya and beyond with curiosity, care, and room for the unexpected moments that make travel unforgettable.

A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE GOES A LONG WAY

Before you go.

You don’t need every answer before you enquire. These are the details that help turn an exciting idea into a well-considered journey.

When to travel.

Start with your available dates and what you most want to experience. Weather, seasonal wildlife movements, accommodation demand, and the places on your route all influence the right timing.

If your dates are flexible, say so. It gives us more room to compare different routes and stays.

How long to stay.

Think in terms of time on the ground as well as your total holiday allowance. Arrival days, transfers, and a beach or trekking extension all need space.

Adding destinations doesn’t always add enjoyment. A few longer stays may suit you better than a busy circuit.

Setting a budget.

Share a comfortable range, your group size, and whether international flights sit inside or outside that figure. Travel dates, accommodation, transport, and trip length all affect the proposal.

Knowing your priorities helps us discuss where you most want to spend and where you’re happy to be flexible.

Getting between places.

Ask about the balance of road journeys and flights, where applicable. Time in transit, baggage requirements, and connections can influence the feel of the whole trip.

Make arrival and departure details part of the conversation before committing to international flights.

Comfort & preparation.

Share dietary needs, mobility considerations, and anything that affects your comfort. Discuss practical clothing, layers, footwear, camera equipment, and luggage around the actual route and transport.

For travel documents, entry requirements, insurance, and health preparation, use current official guidance and appropriate professional advice for your circumstances.

Know what’s included.

Review the written proposal for accommodation, meals, activities, park fees, transfers, guiding, and any internal flights. Ask which items are included and which are paid separately.

Optional activities, drinks, gratuities, permits, and personal expenses should be discussed rather than assumed.
